We were shown this video during Biology lecture today. It is quite catchy and the whole LT was practically singing the chorus part.

Every plant can do this.
Fundamental process.
And we can call this, photosynthesis (:

Proper updates soon.

1st day of Ramadhan and it wasn't too bad. Woke up at 4AM for sahur, waited for Subuh, prayed then went back to sleep. Woke up again at 9AM and got ready for PW meeting at Tampines library, which was really a very very bad choice. We shifted like 3 times, because either we couldn't find a socket for our laptop chargers or we got shoo-ed away by the library staff. The meeting was quite productive because we managed to edit parts of the Written Report and find books that are relevant to our project since the moderators said they didn't want to see 100% websites in our bibliography. Went home, studied a bit of Chemistry SPA, read through Biology, then went back to sleep. Woke up yet for another time at 6PM, edited a little of the Written Report and it was time for buka. I was stumped at how fast time flies because I thought it would be a long, long day since it's just the 1st day of fasting. Turns out otherwise.

Miss T's going to shoot me for not typing in grammatically correct sentences. No kidding.

Finally, updates. Biology SPA was over just now, and I thought I did quite okay for it. Everyone was so smart to start doing from the back. I checked my last question like a gazillion times (okay, that's exaggerating) and I made sure every thing was in. Didn't do the whole experiment though; I just did the 6% and 1.5% hydrogen peroxide, filled in the appropriate values for the remaining concentrations and ta-da, I was done. With at least 20 minutes spare time. After I was done with checking, I started to play with the reagents. Of course without Miss H noticing. I hope I can get that 20 marks. Then 7.5% of my Biology A Level grade is secured.

Chemistry SPA is on Monday and I'm a little worried about it. I'm still a little confused about titration with double indicators and I'll make sure I clear this doubt during the weekend. Hopefully the question would be 99.9% similar to the practices that we've had. Then, 7.5% of my Chemistry A Level grade would be secured.

Just now was damn funny lah. Someone wore his shirt the other way round and nobody noticed it for a good 10 minutes. I think everyone was too tired after PE to notice such minor details. I was trying to control my laughter. If we weren't in the LT, I think I would be laughing my ass off.

Electone examination on the 8th September and showroom performance on the 5th September. Searching frantically for another suitable piece for performance. I wouldn't want to keep playing the same piece over and over again. And Miss C gave me the wrong score =="

I swear I miss History lessons. I recalled at the end of secondary 2, my aunt was trying to dissuade me from taking History because my grade for History in secondary 2 was really horrible. But somehow, I managed to convince her that I would do fine with History though I really hated History at that point of time.

But thank god, I made the right choice because History is fun. Agree? And to top that off, we had the most awesome-est History teacher anyone could ever ask for and she's none other than our dear Miss Nani. She's damn awesome lah. And thanks to her, I really love History and I guess I didn't make the wrong choice. I really admire all the Humanities teachers, be it History or Geography; they can remember all the exact information while we struggled to memorise just a small portion of them.

We got back our last SPA supplementary exercise just now. The very last one before the actual SPA on Friday, and I am damn happy with my results. I just hope things will stay as they are and I shall pray the actual SPA will be as easy as the ones that we have been doing. And during Biology lecture, I was totally lost during the first portion of the lecture. You see, we are doing Photosynthesis now and because I didn't take Biology in secondary school, you can imagine how lost I was. But later on I managed to catch bits and pieces of it. I guess I should read up before the next lecture. But anyway, Photosynthesis is damn cool and I didn't know that chloroplasts can move. Cool right?
And there's a lecture test next term, which is just 4 weeks before Promos and the topics tested is A LOT - 6 topics with damn lots of content.

1. Organisation and Control of Eukaryotic Genome
2. Organisation and Control of Prokaryotic Genome
3. Mutation and Cancer
4. Genetics of Viruses and Bacteria
5. Photosynthesis
6. Respiration

And they're assuming we have already prepared for Promos. ==" Imagine cramming 6 lecture notes of information within a short period of time.

3 more days.

I screwed up comprehension just now. I seriously didn't understand what the whole passage was about. And I totally crapped my way through the AQ which I bet I'm going to flunk, just like JCTs. Speaking of GP, I seriously must thank TK English teachers very much. They have like, ensured that our language is in place and all those small yet serious errors are not made like SVs, spelling etc. I guess all that minusing of marks for every language error does help. A LOT. Because now, I really don't find myself making those errors in essays and my language usually hover around 12-14 marks range, which I think is already quite good since I didn't use any of those alien words. I need to read, read and read more.

Generating of electrophiles.
Attack of benzene ring by electrophiles.
Proton expulsion to reform the stable ring structure back.

Yes, I know I'm being random.

URGH. There's double GP tomorrow and we have to do comprehension which I seriously hate.
I hate Mondays. Did EoM just now and I thought it was quite okay. 3 more months till the end of PW.

And I will must remember that the condition for electrophilic substitution of benzene is presence ANHYDROUS Lewis acid as catalyst at room temperature.
And alkyl groups are 2,4-directing.

The only motivation for me to study now is getting that H3.

Study dates anyone?

URGH.

As you can see, I have put my the tagboard again. Initially, I didn't want to put up the tagboard because of some unpleasant stuff. But, I have decided to put it up once more and will not hesistate to remove it if such things happen again. Those bad memories.

Anyway, during Biology just now, Miss H returned our 2nd last SPA supplementary exercise and I really felt I improved since the first Mock SPA. Looking ahead, I guess it's still possible to score in SPA after all. Let's just wait till the actual SPA. I didn't know why they changed the format for Biology SPA but I'm loving it. It's much, much easier to score than what we had been doing in Term 2.

And I felt that there isn't sufficient time for me to complete what I'm supposed to do.
1. Do a stockcheck for the MCS room (yes, that's what I have to do as Logistics Head)
2. Update the MCS noticeboard (yes, that's also what I have to do as Logistics Head)
3. Maclaurin's Series and Integration tutorials
4. Alcohols and Phenols tutorial.
5. Market Failure tutorial.

And I still have to rush out the arrangements for exams which is just next month. Wait, I should be panicking for Promos instead right? Urgh. I'm too lazy to make my way to Tampines Mall for Electone lessons later. But I have yet to collect the scores for Howl's Moving Castle from Miss C.

P.S. Organic Chemistry has never been so interesting (:
Urgh.

I've just realised something. Every single thing that I blogged about revolves around school life. But hey, at least there's something for you to read right? And that's why you are here in the first place.

School was alright I guess, although I was feeling slightly unwell and still am. Just now Miss H was telling us how close Biology SPA was and how important it is. She was also told us that we're sort of sitting for our very first A Level paper. The moment she said this, I felt really scared because it has been a year since our O Level and yet we're about to sit for another national exam. Although Miss H keeps saying it's sufficient to revise from the Mock SPAs from this term as well as the supplementary questions, I rather not solely concentrate on them because Cambridge can give all sorts of suprises, just like last year.

Chemistry test tomorrow. URGH.

2nd post for the day. There's school tomorrow, and I still have not done Economics tutorial yet. So much for wanting to improve on Economics. There's supposed to be a free period during Chemistry tomorrow but Miss H took the period for Biology. Lucky those Physics people. But hey, Biology is much interesting than Physics and after seeing what the Physics people have to do, I am really glad I didn't take Physics. After struggling for Physics for 2 years, I realised that Physics wasn't my cup of tea. Biology suits me better.

Studying Organic Chemistry is really tiring, with all those reactions to memorise.

Back to notes.

Happy 44th birthday Singapore.

Let me squeeze some time here before I start mugging. The holiday shouldn't be wasted right? Plus, there is Chemistry test on Wednesday and I'm going to try to score. Note the keyword 'try.' There is still tutorials on Differentiation that I have yet to complete although I should have done it like ages ago. So many things to do, yet so little time.

And there's Biology SPA assessment on week 8 followed by Chemistry SPA assessment on week 9. Urgh.

Till then.

I guess it's just a wishful thinking on my part.

I miss secondary school life. I really do. Life really wasn't like this, honestly. With deadlines to meet, tutorials to rush, lectures to catch up, I wonder when will our free time ever be. I presume things will go even faster once in J2. That's if I get promoted.

Schoolwork is definitely getting tougher. Mathematics wasn't so easy like it used to be - implicit differentiation, parametric equations, Maclaurin's series etc. Economics has started to bore me. I swear I didn't catch the whole thing about Market Failure. Like the only thing I could remembered was Pareto optimality. Biology is getting quite interesting, although I've been having short naps in between lectures. How the body functions at the molecular level really amazes me. I presume the only thing I always looked forward too is Chemistry lecture. Organic Chemistry FTW (:

Man, I suddenly miss studying for Geography. I vaguely remember how we struggled to cramp so many things in our brains during lunch only to forget them later. I remember that Plate Tectonics was my best topic ever I never did attempt to do Natural Vegetation. Okay, I didn't even study Natural Vegetation. Gosh, I should have taken either Geography/History. Economics is really, really =="

Till then.

When was the last time I blogged? 2 weeks ain't long right? The busy life I'm currently leading simply forbids me from blogging. I wasn't even this relaxed last year despite the O Levels. This must be the hectic JC everyone's talking about, I presume. That aside, it's already August and this definitely means Promos is very, very near. JCT results really woke up me and I guess I need to review my study techniques and make the necessary changes if I do want to do better for Promos, not get retained and get my H3 Chemistry, which I really, really want to take. Nobody knows how much Chemistry means to me, although JCT reflected otherwise.

On a side note, I have been watching TOO much of anime. Bleach, Naruto, Soul Eater and the list goes on. All thanks to Mr Chow, our GP tutor for 2 weeks. He told me to watch Soul Eater on Facebook and I did. It has a really awesome storyline so all of you should watch it. I guarantee you it won't be a waste of your time. I'll be sitting for my first ever music exam next month and I'm really, really scared and nervous. If only there weren't any hearing component, then I'll be more than glad to take it.

Till then.
